
Grilled Bratwurst
Serves 8
8 Bratwurst
1 ½ c. Beer
1 ½ TSP Vegetable Oil
2 large onions, chopped coarsely
2 TBL. dark brown sugar
2 TBL. Cider Vinegar
1 TBL. Worcestershire Sauce
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. paprika
1 bay leaf
Place the Bratwurst in a shallow dish. Pour in the beer, and cover refrigerated for one hour. Preheat the grill or broiler. In a medium saucepan, heat the oil. Add the onions and cook over medium heat until onions are slightly browned. Add the brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire Sauce, salt, paprika, and the bay leaf. Remove the brats from the beer and as the beer to the onion mixture. Cook the beer mixture for five minutes. Meanwhile, grill the bratwurst over the grill for approximately 20 minutes. (Note: only use tongs, do not use a fork to puncture the brats) Baste with the beer sauce. Serve with Sweet Hot Mustard and Beer.
